The Boardwalk

Location from Worm by Wildbow

Brockton Bay's tourist and commercial strip along the waterfront. The city's public face — cleaner, safer, patrolled. A thin veneer of normalcy over a troubled city.

The Boardwalk is where Brockton Bay pretends to be a normal city. Tourists buy Protectorate merchandise, families eat at chain restaurants, and private security keeps the rougher elements out. The contrast with the Docks just blocks away is jarring and deliberate. Business owners pay premium rates for the security patrols that keep this stretch presentable. Cape sightings are common — heroes make a point of being visible here. But the illusion is fragile. Gang recruitment happens in the alleys behind the shops. The ABB and Empire both consider the Boardwalk neutral ground, mostly, though skirmishes occasionally shatter storefront windows. After dark it gets quieter, and the line between safe and unsafe blurs.

Appearance

A wooden boardwalk stretches along the waterfront, lined with shops, restaurants, and street vendors. Colorful awnings shade outdoor seating. The planks are weathered but maintained. Cape merchandise fills souvenir shop windows. PRT recruitment posters hang on lampposts alongside event flyers.
