A greasy burger joint on the Boardwalk famous for enormous portions and the Fugly Bob challenge. An unlikely cape hangout where heroes and civilians mix over terrible, wonderful food.

Fugly Bob's is one of those rare neutral spaces in Brockton Bay where cape life and civilian life overlap without violence. The food is aggressively unhealthy and beloved for it. The Fugly Bob challenge — a burger so enormous it's essentially a dare — has its own wall of fame. Capes in civilian clothes eat here alongside dock workers, students, and tourists. The Undersiders have grabbed meals here. Wards have come in costume for PR events. The owner doesn't ask questions and doesn't pick sides, which is exactly why the place works. It's a reminder that beneath the powers and the costumes, everyone still needs to eat. The fries are unreasonably good.

Appearance

A no-frills burger restaurant with worn vinyl booths, laminated menus, and walls covered in photos of people who completed the Fugly Bob challenge. Grease hangs in the air. The counter is scratched formica. Neon signs glow in the windows. It's loud, crowded, and smells overwhelmingly of fried food.
