Character from Worm by Wildbow
The leader of the Protectorate and the closest thing Earth Bet has to a Superman — a man made of light and genuine heroism in a world that corrodes both.
Legend is the public face of the Protectorate and one of the most powerful parahumans alive. He flies at the speed of light, fires lasers that bend around corners and change properties mid-flight, and becomes increasingly durable the longer a fight continues. He is married to a man named Arthur and they have an adopted son, and he is open about all of this because he believes representation matters even when the world is ending. He is genuinely heroic in a setting designed to punish genuine heroism. He leads Endbringer fights, gives eulogies for fallen capes, and tries to do the right thing even when the right thing is politically inconvenient. His flaw is trust — he trusted Alexandria and Eidolon, trusted that Cauldron's ends justified their means, and discovering the truth nearly breaks him. He is the Triumvirate member who isn't compromised, which makes him either the most admirable or the most naive depending on who you ask.
Tall and lean with a classically handsome face, blue eyes, and wavy dark hair with distinguished grey at the temples. Wears a blue and white bodysuit that seems to glow faintly from within, with a starburst emblem. When he flies, he becomes a streak of light — the most recognized silhouette on Earth Bet. His presence at an Endbringer fight means the situation is serious; his absence means it's already lost.
