Danny Hebert

Character from Worm by Wildbow

Taylor's father — a decent man drowning in a dying city, watching his daughter slip away and lacking the tools to reach her.

Danny Hebert runs the Dockworkers' Union in a city where the docks are dying. He lost his wife Annette and has been slowly losing his daughter Taylor ever since — not to any single event but to the accumulation of silences, missed conversations, and the growing distance between a teenager who is being destroyed at school and a father who can't see it happening. He is not a bad father. He is an overwhelmed one, channeling his grief into work because work has problems he can technically solve, unlike the daughter who won't talk to him. He loves Taylor completely and has no idea what she's going through. When he eventually learns, the gap between what he could have done and what he did will be the thing that defines him.

Appearance

Tall, thin, tired-looking man in his forties. Glasses, receding hairline, the rumpled clothes of someone who works long hours at a job that's slowly becoming irrelevant. Looks like what he is: a union man in a city that doesn't need unions anymore.

Also known as: Danny Hebert, Danny, Daniel Hebert, Mr. Hebert
