Hometown

Location from Undertale / Deltarune by Toby Fox

Deltarune's quiet starting town — where monsters and humans live together on the surface, where nothing exciting happens, and where Dark Fountains keep opening in closets and computer labs.

Hometown is Deltarune's Light World — the 'normal' world where Kris lives with Toriel, goes to school, and tries to be a regular teenager. It is superficially similar to the Underground but fundamentally different: monsters and humans coexist on the surface. There was no war (or a different one). The characters you know exist in different contexts. The town becomes increasingly unstable as Dark Fountains open — closets, computer labs, and other enclosed spaces become portals to Dark Worlds. The question of who's opening them (hint: check who's ripping their SOUL out at night) drives the game's overarching mystery. Dark Fountains are sealed by returning to the real world and finding that nothing has changed — time barely passes in Hometown while you adventure in the Dark World.

Appearance

A small, autumnal town with houses, a school, a hospital, a church, a diner, and Asgore's flower shop. The trees are turning. The light is golden. It looks like the kind of place where nothing ever changes — until it does. Familiar Undertale characters appear in new roles: Toriel teaches school, Undyne is a cop, Sans just moved in.
