Temmies are a species that speaks in a unique broken dialect — 'hOI!' instead of 'hi,' random capitalization, and grammar that suggests English is their fourth language at best. They live in the hidden Temmie Village (which can only be accessed by going through a specific path in Waterfall) and they are obsessed with three things: themselves, humans ('hooman!'), and going to 'colleg.' The Temmie Shopkeeper will sell you progressively more expensive items, with the proceeds going toward her college tuition. If you fund her education entirely, she returns with a graduation cap and sells the best armor in the game. This is the most emotionally investing economic transaction in gaming history. Temmie is named after Temmie Chang, one of Undertale's artists. The character is simultaneously a joke and a genuine presence — the game treats Temmie with the same affection it treats everyone else.
A small creature that is simultaneously cat-like and dog-like, with a round face, floppy ears, and an expression of permanent, vibrating excitement. Every Temmie looks identical except for the one with allergies. They vibrate. They never stop vibrating.
