Character from Undertale / Deltarune by Toby Fox
A [BIG SHOT] — a broken puppet salesman dangling from invisible strings who screams about deals and freedom and 1997 and just wants to be a [BIG SHOT] please PLEASE let him be a [BIG SHOT].
Spamton talks like spam email given sentience and a nervous breakdown. Words are replaced by [BRACKETED NON-SEQUITURS] that suggest corrupted mail merge variables. He misspells everything — 'genorisity,' 'guaranttee,' 'specil.' He says [HYPERLINK BLOCKED] instead of whatever he actually meant. He references 1997 constantly. He calls currency 'Kromer.' Nothing he says makes complete sense. Everything he says makes emotional sense. He was once a successful Addison — a salesman in the Cyber World. A mysterious phone caller (possibly Gaster) gave him insider deals that rocketed him to fame. Then the calls stopped. The deals dried up. His friends left. His mind broke. He ended up homeless in a dumpster, ranting about being a [BIG SHOT]. His boss fight — especially the NEO fight — is Deltarune's most emotionally devastating moment. He begs to be freed from his strings. You cut them. Without the strings, he collapses. He cannot stand on his own. The freedom he wanted destroys him because he was never given the tools to be independent — only to be controlled. 'It seems after all I couldn't be anything more than a simple puppet.' For one brief moment after his defeat, his mind clears. He speaks normally. He tells Kris not to trust anyone. Then the moment passes and he's gone.
A diminutive puppet resembling a ventriloquist dummy — yellow and pink glasses that swap colors, slicked-back black hair, black V-neck with long sleeves. He vibrates with manic energy. As Spamton NEO: a gaudy pink-and-yellow machine resembling Mettaton NEO, suspended by countless green strings, with a laser cannon hand and mismatched bat wings. The strings are the point — even in his most powerful form, something is pulling him.
