She runs a bake sale to raise money to rescue spiders trapped in the Ruins — the cold climate of Snowdin prevents them from crossing, so she needs funds for relocation. This is genuinely charitable. Her prices are genuinely extortionate. Both things are true. Her boss fight can be skipped entirely by buying a Spider Donut earlier in the game — proof that you support spider commerce. If you fight her, she traps your SOUL in purple mode (webs) and attacks with spiders, pastries, and her giant muffin pet. She is not evil — she's a businesswoman who considers murder an acceptable marketing strategy.
