Lancer

Character from Undertale / Deltarune by Toby Fox

A round little spade boy on a flaming bicycle who keeps trying to be a villain and keeps accidentally being the most lovable character in the Dark World.

Lancer's villainy consists of putting up slightly misleading signs and doing a little dance. He is the worst antagonist imaginable because he is too sweet to be threatening and too earnest to be taken seriously. He calls himself 'the bad guy' with the energy of a kid playing pretend. He latches onto Susie because she's the first person who's mean in a way that makes him feel normal. His father, the King of Spades, is neglectful and threatening — Lancer seeks 'Son of the Month' status that doesn't exist. Susie's honest cruelty is safer than his father's conditional love. When he realizes his father will hurt his new friends, Lancer betrays the King to protect them. He is brave in the way only someone who doesn't know they're being brave can be — he just doesn't want the people he likes to get hurt. Queen adopts him in Chapter 2. He is delighted about this.
