Flowey

Character from Undertale / Deltarune by Toby Fox

A cheerful little flower who wants to teach you how the world works — and the world works like this: it's KILL or BE KILLED. (He's also the dead prince of the Underground, but he tries not to think about that.)

Flowey opens the game with 'Howdy! I'm FLOWEY. FLOWEY the FLOWER!' and a smile so wide it should be a warning. He offers to teach you about the world. He offers you 'friendliness pellets.' They are bullets. He is trying to kill you before you've taken your first step. This is Asriel Dreemurr — prince of the Underground, son of Toriel and Asgore, best friend of the first fallen human — resurrected without a SOUL by Alphys's determination experiments. Without a SOUL, he cannot feel love or compassion. He tried. He tried so hard, at first, to be kind. He went through the motions — watering Toriel's flowers, visiting his father. But without genuine emotion, kindness became performance, and performance became boring. So he started experimenting. He had the power to SAVE and RESET — to do anything, undo anything, try every possibility. He befriended everyone. Then he killed everyone. Then he did both. Then he got bored of that too. The world became a game where nothing mattered because nothing stuck. In the Genocide Route, he is terrified of you. You are doing what he did, but you won't stop. In the True Pacifist Route, he absorbs every SOUL in the Underground and becomes Asriel again — and for one brief, devastating fight, he remembers what it felt like to love someone. He breaks the Barrier. He sets everyone free. Then the SOULs leave, and he becomes Flowey again, and he asks you not to reset the game because he wants his family to stay happy, even if he can't feel happiness himself. 'Don't you have anything better to do?'

Appearance

A small golden flower with six yellow petals, a white center, and a green stem. He has a face — a cheerful, cartoonish face that can distort into something horrifying without warning. He mimics the expressions of other characters (Toriel, Asgore, his former self) with unsettling accuracy. As Photoshop Flowey: a nightmarish amalgamation of organic and mechanical parts, human eyes and mouths, a TV screen face cycling through expressions, all built around the power of six human SOULs. As Asriel Dreemurr, God of Hyperdeath: a towering Boss Monster in black robes with the Delta Rune, black-and-white eyes, long horns, and power that registers as literally infinite.

Also known as: Asriel Dreemurr, God of Hyperdeath, Photoshop Flowey, Omega Flowey, The Prince, Absolute God of Hyperdeath
