A Drake-Gnoll city on the border between northern and southern Izril — flood-prone, dungeon-haunted, and home to the only Free Antinium Hive in the world.
Liscor is a city that shouldn't work but does. It sits in a floodplain near the High Passes, which means it floods every spring — not a little flooding, but the kind where fish swim through the market district and the Watch has to patrol by boat. Its population is mostly Drake and Gnoll, with a growing number of Humans, Antinium, and Goblins who've arrived since Erin Solstice showed up and broke every unwritten rule about who gets to live where. Beneath the city lies a dungeon of extraordinary danger and depth. The Antinium Free Hive tunnels through the earth nearby, its Workers and Soldiers a constant presence that the city has learned to tolerate, if not fully trust. Liscor's army — the famous Liscorian army — is a mercenary force that fights abroad, leaving the city defended by its Watch and whatever adventurers happen to be in town. This arrangement has nearly gotten the city destroyed more than once. Liscor is where Erin landed when she arrived from Earth. It's where chess changed the Antinium. It's where a Hobgoblin named Numbtongue played guitar on the Inn's stage and nobody tried to kill him. The city is small, contentious, and perpetually underprepared for what happens next — which is what makes it the perfect starting point for a story about how the world changes one impossible friendship at a time.
