Saliss of Lights is a Named-rank adventurer, the greatest living [Alchemist], and a Drake who conducts most of his business naked because clothes get in the way of alchemy (and because he enjoys making everyone uncomfortable). His potions are legendary — not mass-produced healing draughts, but individually crafted works of alchemical art that can do things most people thought impossible. Regeneration potions that regrow severed limbs. Combat elixirs that temporarily grant abilities far above the user's level. Explosive compounds that can breach Walled City fortifications. Saliss brews them in Pallass, sells them at prices that make Wall Lords wince, and occasionally gives them away to people he likes — which is a short list that includes Erin Solstice. His potions are among the most valuable items on Izril, and they represent the upper ceiling of what alchemy can achieve when practiced by someone with decades of experience, Named-rank levels, and a complete disregard for personal safety during the brewing process.
