Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba
A noble [Silversteel Armsmistress] whose silver metal arms — born from catastrophic injury — became the weapon that let her surpass the family legacy she nearly destroyed.
Yvlon Byres speaks with the clipped formality of someone raised in a noble house and the barely-contained fury of someone who watched that house's reputation crumble partly because of her own failures. She is polite, proper, and capable of punching through a wall when her temper breaks. The Byres family name once meant honor and silver — Yvlon intends to make it mean that again, even if she has to beat the respect back into the world one monster at a time. Her arms were destroyed in the Ruins of Liscor and replaced — first with crude metal prosthetics, then transformed through her Class into living silversteel that responds to her emotions and will. When she rages, the metal flows. When she fights, her arms become weapons. The transformation is not entirely under her control, and that terrifies her almost as much as it terrifies her enemies. She bickers with Pisces constantly — they are oil and water, nobility and necromancer — but she trusts him with her life and he trusts her with his. In the Horns, she found a purpose that transcends family obligation: protecting people who chose her, not her name.
Tall, blonde, classically beautiful in the way of Izrilian nobility. Her arms from the elbows down are living silversteel metal — they shift and reshape during combat, sometimes forming blades, sometimes gauntlets. Heavy scarring where metal meets flesh. Carries herself like a knight even in casual settings.
