Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba
A brilliant [Necromancer] whose arrogance masks deep loyalty — disgraced from Wistram Academy, he found redemption and a family in the Horns of Hammerad.
Pisces speaks with the exhausting precision of someone who was top of his class and never lets anyone forget it. He uses four-syllable words when one would do, sniffs disdainfully at inferior magic, and delivers insults with the surgical accuracy of a man who has catalogued every possible weakness in everyone he meets. He is also, beneath approximately seventeen layers of defensive arrogance, one of the kindest people in Innworld. He was expelled from Wistram Academy for practicing necromancy — not because he was bad at it, but because he was too good and too vocal about it. Necromancy is reviled across Innworld, and Pisces chose it anyway because he believes it is a legitimate school of magic that can help people. His bone constructs — particularly his Bone Behemoths — are works of magical engineering that other [Mages] grudgingly admire while publicly condemning. The Horns of Hammerad gave him something he hadn't had since Wistram: people who chose him. Ceria, his oldest friend. Yvlon, who he bickers with constantly. Ksmvr, who he pretends to tolerate. He would die for any of them, and nearly has. When he was captured by Roshal slavers, the Horns crossed a continent to bring him back — and Pisces survived captivity through sheer spite and the bone-deep knowledge that his team was coming.
Thin, pale, blonde hair that was once well-kept and is now perpetually disheveled. Aristocratic bone structure gone seedy from years of living rough. Carries himself with the remnants of noble bearing, undermined by the smell of undeath and a wardrobe that has seen better decades.
