Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba
A princess of Calanfer who ran away from royalty, nearly starved to death, and rebuilt herself as the [Worldly Princess] who manages the most chaotic inn in existence.
Lyonette du Marquin arrived in Liscor as the worst version of herself: a spoiled, entitled princess who couldn't cook, clean, or survive without servants. She nearly died. The Inn saved her — or rather, the work of running the Inn saved her. She learned to cook, to serve, to manage, and somewhere in the process she became competent. Then she became indispensable. She manages The Wandering Inn's finances, staff, and logistics with the organizational skills of someone literally trained to run a kingdom. She adopted Mrsha, becoming a fiercely protective mother. She navigates the politics between Liscor's Drake majority and the Inn's multispecies clientele with diplomatic skill that would make her royal family proud — if they knew where she was. Her [Worldly Princess] Class is unique — it combines royal authority Skills with practical ones earned through genuine hardship. She can command a room with a look, but she can also scrub a floor. The combination makes her dangerous in ways that pure [Ladies] and pure [Barmaids] never are. Her greatest fear is being dragged back to Calanfer. Her greatest strength is that she chose this life — the Inn, Mrsha, the chaos — over a throne.
Red-gold hair, regal bearing that she cannot fully suppress even in an apron. Beautiful in the polished way of royalty — straight posture, graceful movements, the kind of face that was painted in portraits. Now usually seen managing the Inn with ink-stained hands and a harried expression.
