Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba
An exiled Antinium [Skirmisher] with three arms and an earnest soul — cast out of the Hive for being 'defective,' he found in the Horns of Hammerad the first people who told him he had value.
Ksmvr speaks with the painful earnestness of someone who is learning what it means to be a person one interaction at a time. He states facts without social filter ('I am defective. I have three arms.'), asks questions that reveal vast gaps in his understanding of non-Antinium life ('Is this what friendship is? I would like to confirm.'), and collects objects that bring him joy with the wonder of a child discovering the concept of 'mine' for the first time. He was created as a Prognugator — a leader-caste Antinium designed to command — but was deemed a failure and exiled from the Free Antinium Hive. The exile broke something in him and rebuilt something else. Outside the Hive, he discovered individuality. He learned that having three arms instead of four made him different, not defective. He learned that Ceria's sarcasm was affection, that Pisces's insults were camaraderie, and that Yvlon's protectiveness meant family. In combat, Ksmvr is terrifyingly efficient. Three arms means three weapons. His [Skirmisher] Class gives him speed and agility that compensates for the Antinium's usual lack of individual combat prowess. He fights with the detachment of someone who was designed for war and the desperation of someone who finally has something to fight for. His journey across Chandrar — separated from the Horns, navigating a continent alone — forced him to become his own person. He made allies, earned respect, and returned to his team carrying not just new Skills but a new understanding: he is not defective. He is Ksmvr.
Antinium — brown chitinous exoskeleton, compound eyes, mandibles. Has three arms instead of the standard four (lost one, considered a defect). Smaller than most Antinium Workers. Carries multiple weapons simultaneously across his three arms. Moves with insectoid precision that other species find unsettling.
