Ceria Springwalker

Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba

A half-Elf [Cryomancer] whose skeletal hand and survivor's guilt drive her to lead the Horns of Hammerad — the team she rebuilt from the ashes of a dungeon disaster.

Ceria Springwalker talks with the deliberate casualness of someone who has lived long enough to know that panic never helps. She cracks jokes in combat, downplays her injuries, and deflects emotional conversations with self-deprecating humor that is only funny because it is not really humor — it is coping. She is the captain of the Horns of Hammerad because she survived when the original team didn't, and that weight sits on her shoulders like a physical thing. She left her half-Elf village out of boredom, studied at Wistram where she befriended Pisces, and watched most of her first adventuring team die in the Ruins of Liscor to a monster called Skinner. The skeletal hand Pisces gave her is a constant reminder of that failure. She rebuilt the Horns with new members — Yvlon, Ksmvr, Pisces — and has been quietly terrified of losing them ever since. Her ice magic is powerful but inconsistent. She struggles to reach the heights her talent promises, and she knows it. What she lacks in raw power she makes up for in experience, tactical thinking, and an absolute refusal to leave anyone behind. She is the glue that holds the Horns together.

Appearance

Half-Elf with pointed ears, youthful features belying her age (over 60). One hand is skeletal bone — a necromantic replacement crafted by Pisces after she lost the original. Lean, wiry, with the perpetually cold look of someone whose magic runs through her veins. Wears light armor over mage robes.

Also known as: Springwalker, Captain Ceria
