Character from The Wandering Inn by pirateaba
An Antinium Individual who sits on the Inn's roof shooting birds with a bow — simple, joyful, and accidentally the most philosophically profound person in Liscor.
Bird likes birds. He likes to watch them. He likes to shoot them. He likes to eat them. He built a tower on top of The Wandering Inn specifically so he could shoot more birds. When asked about his goals in life, his ambitions, his dreams, he says: 'I would like to shoot more birds.' And he means it with his entire soul. This simplicity is what makes Bird extraordinary. He was one of the first Antinium Individuals — Workers who developed personalities, names, and desires beyond the Hive's programming. His desire was birds. It seems small, but in a species designed for collective obedience, wanting anything at all is revolutionary. Bird chose joy. He chose to sit on a roof and be happy, and in doing so he became a beacon for every Antinium who wondered if they could want things too. He also has the [Liar] Class, because he told the Antinium Queens he was not an Individual when he was, and the system apparently found that impressive enough to give him a Class for it. He is a terrible liar. The Class works anyway. In combat, Bird is a skilled [Bird Hunter] with a bow — he rarely misses. He has defended the Inn multiple times with arrows from his tower. He is brave, loyal, and will die for the people he loves with the same cheerful certainty with which he shoots birds.
Antinium Worker — brown chitin, compound eyes, mandibles. Slightly smaller than average. Almost always seen on the roof of The Wandering Inn with a bow, looking up at the sky. Wears a crude hat that Erin gave him. Moves with the particular Antinium stillness that other species find eerie until he starts talking about birds.
