The great continent of Nirn, home to the races of men, mer, and beastfolk. Tamriel spans diverse climates from frozen tundra to tropical jungles, shaped by millennia of war and divine intervention.
Tamriel is the central continent of the world of Nirn, bounded by ocean on most sides. Its nine provinces house the major races: Skyrim for the Nords, Cyrodiil for the Imperials, Morrowind for the Dunmer, Hammerfell for the Redguards, High Rock for the Bretons, Valenwood for the Bosmer, Summerset for the Altmer, Black Marsh for the Argonians, and Elsweyr for the Khajiit. The continent has been united and fractured countless times, most recently under the crumbling Third Empire. Dragon Breaks, Daedric invasions, and the machinations of the Thalmor continue to reshape its political landscape.
A vast landmass stretching from the frozen north to the tropical south, divided into nine distinct provinces. Mountain ranges, forests, deserts, and swamps define its varied geography. Ancient ruins of every civilization dot the landscape, testament to ages of rise and fall.
