Summerset Isles

Location from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios

Island province of the Altmer, the High Elves, and seat of the Aldmeri Dominion. The most magically advanced civilization in Tamriel, now ruled by the supremacist Thalmor who seek to unmake the world of men.

The Summerset Isles are the ancestral homeland of the Altmer, who consider themselves the closest descendants of the original Aldmer and therefore the most pure of all races. This belief in racial superiority drives the Thalmor, the ruling political faction that seized power during the Oblivion Crisis and subsequently formed the Aldmeri Dominion with Valenwood and Elsweyr. The Thalmor's ultimate goal extends beyond political dominance — they seek to undo the creation of Mundus itself, believing mortality was a curse inflicted upon the elves. Their ban on Talos worship serves this metaphysical agenda. The Crystal Tower, once the province's greatest landmark, was destroyed during the Oblivion Crisis.

Appearance

Crystal towers and shimmering spires rise from manicured landscapes of impossible beauty. Geometric gardens frame pristine white-stone cities built with architectural perfection. The coastline gleams with pale beaches beneath an eternally mild sky. Everything appears deliberately crafted to reflect elven ideals of order and symmetry.
