Location from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios
Capital city of Skyrim, perched on a natural stone arch above the Sea of Ghosts. Seat of the High King and headquarters of the Imperial Legion in Skyrim, it represents Imperial culture and authority.
Solitude is Skyrim's seat of power and its most cosmopolitan city, where Imperial influence is strongest. The Blue Palace serves as residence for the High King — or currently the widowed Jarl Elisif the Fair, installed after Ulfric killed High King Torygg. General Tullius commands the Imperial Legion's Skyrim campaign from Castle Dour. The Bards College preserves Nordic oral traditions, while the East Empire Company maintains its trading headquarters here. Solitude's location on the northwestern coast provides excellent access to sea trade routes. The city's architecture and culture reflect heavy Imperial influence, making it feel almost like a piece of Cyrodiil transplanted into Skyrim, which both attracts cosmopolitan residents and fuels Stormcloak resentment.
A magnificent walled city built atop a massive natural stone arch extending over the harbor below. Blue-roofed stone buildings line broad avenues, with the Blue Palace dominating the skyline at the arch's highest point. Imperial banners hang from every tower. Ships dock in the sheltered harbor beneath the arch, and Castle Dour houses the Legion garrison.
