Oblivion

Location from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios

The collective planes of existence ruled by the Daedric Princes, separated from Mundus by the Liminal Barrier. Each Prince shapes their own realm to reflect their sphere of influence, from Sheogorath's Shivering Isles to Molag Bal's Coldharbour.

Oblivion encompasses the countless planes of existence that surround Mundus, the mortal world. Each of the seventeen Daedric Princes rules their own realm, shaped by their sphere of influence. Mehrunes Dagon launched the Oblivion Crisis from the Deadlands, nearly conquering Tamriel before Martin Septim's sacrifice sealed the barriers between worlds. Hermaeus Mora's Apocrypha is an infinite library of forbidden knowledge. Hircine's Hunting Grounds host eternal hunts. Nocturnal's Evergloam is a realm of perpetual twilight. Mortals can enter Oblivion through conjuration, Daedric portals, or at a Prince's invitation, though few return unchanged. The Liminal Barrier established by the Aedra normally prevents large-scale Daedric incursions into Mundus.

Appearance

No single appearance defines Oblivion, as each plane reflects its Prince's nature. Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands are fields of lava and siege engines. The Shivering Isles split between manic color and dreary grey. Apocrypha drowns in endless books and tentacles. Coldharbour is a frozen, corrupted mirror of Nirn. The only constant is otherworldly wrongness.
