Location from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios
The heartland province of Tamriel and seat of the Empire. A temperate land of rolling hills, dense forests, and the great Nibenay Basin, centered on the Imperial City and its White-Gold Tower.
Cyrodiil has served as the seat of every great human empire on Tamriel, from the Alessian Order to the Septim Dynasty and now the Mede Dynasty. The province is dominated by the Imperial City on its central island in Lake Rumare, where the Elder Council governs what remains of the Empire. After the Oblivion Crisis destroyed the Septim bloodline and the Great War nearly toppled the Empire entirely, Cyrodiil's power has waned considerably. The White-Gold Concordat, signed within the Imperial City itself, represents the Empire's greatest humiliation. Despite this decline, Cyrodiil remains the most politically significant province, and its legions still project power across Tamriel.
Lush green countryside stretches in every direction, from the Colovian Highlands in the west to the Nibenay Valley in the east. The great Lake Rumare reflects the towering White-Gold Tower at its center. Farmlands, vineyards, and walled towns dot the landscape beneath a mild sky. Imperial roads connect all major settlements in well-maintained stone.
