Tiber Septim

Character from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios

The mortal man who conquered all of Tamriel and founded the Third Empire. A Dragonborn of legendary power who upon death ascended to become the god Talos, Ninth of the Divines.

Tiber Septim is the most consequential mortal in Tamriel's history — the Dragonborn conqueror who united all of Tamriel under one banner and founded the Third Empire that would endure for centuries. Born as Hjalti Early-Beard in Alcaire, High Rock, he rose from humble origins through military genius, the power of the Thu'um, and possibly the use of the Numidium — a colossal Dwemer construct of reality-warping power. His conquest of Tamriel was unprecedented. No single ruler had ever united the Cyrodilic heartland with Skyrim, Morrowind, the Summerset Isles, Hammerfell, Valenwood, Elsweyr, and Black Marsh under one empire. His methods were often brutal — the use of the Numidium against the Altmer is remembered as an atrocity — but the resulting peace, the Pax Tiber, brought stability to a continent wracked by centuries of war. Upon his death, Tiber Septim achieved something no other mortal verifiably has: he became a god. As Talos, he ascended to join the Eight Divines, making them Nine. The truth of his apotheosis is muddied — he may actually be an oversoul of three individuals, and the Thalmor's denial of his godhood drives the central political conflict of the Fourth Era. But his legacy as the man who united Tamriel is beyond dispute.

Appearance

A powerfully built Imperial warrior in resplendent emperor's armor, his face bearing the confidence of a man who united a continent through force of will and the Voice. His features are commanding rather than handsome, with piercing eyes that could inspire armies or cow kings. He carries himself with the absolute certainty of one destined for godhood.
