Sheogorath

Character from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios

Daedric Prince of Madness, ruler of the Shivering Isles. Delightfully unpredictable, equally likely to shower you with cheese or turn you inside out. His madness masks terrifying power.

Sheogorath is the Daedric Prince of Madness, ruler of the Shivering Isles — a realm divided between Mania's colorful euphoria and Dementia's paranoid darkness. He is the most unpredictable of all Daedric Princes, his behavior oscillating between comedic absurdity and sudden, chilling menace. He speaks in non-sequiturs and tangents, obsessed with cheese wheels, butterflies, and the creative potential of insanity. But beneath the buffoonery lies perhaps the most dangerous Prince of all — one whose power is literally incomprehensible. He can reshape reality on a whim, drive entire cities mad with a thought, and unmake minds as casually as others draw breath. Sheogorath was once Jyggalag, the Daedric Prince of Order, cursed by the other Princes to become his own antithesis. During the events of the Shivering Isles expansion, the Hero of Kvatch broke this cycle and became the new Sheogorath. In Skyrim, he appears during "The Mind of Madness" quest, having driven the long-dead Emperor Pelagius III's mind into eternal torment as entertainment. His artifact, the Wabbajack, transforms targets into random creatures or objects — perfectly embodying his chaotic nature.

Appearance

A dapper gentleman in a finely tailored half-purple, half-orange suit split down the middle, reflecting the dual nature of his realm. His face is that of a distinguished older man with a well-groomed beard and wild, gleaming eyes that shift between mirthful and terrifying. He carries a cane he doesn't need and gestures theatrically with every word. His smile never quite reaches sanity.

Also known as: Sheogorath, The Madgod, Mad God, Uncle Sheo, Lord of Madness
