Character from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios
Daedric Prince of Lies, Secrets, Murder, and the concealed webs of influence that connect all things. The Webspinner who taught the Dunmer the arts of assassination.
Mephala is the Daedric Prince of Lies, Sex, Murder, and Secrets — the Webspinner who pulls unseen strings connecting all mortal affairs. She is one of the three Good Daedra of the Dunmer, having taught the Chimer the craft of assassination, the value of secrets, and the power of manipulation from the shadows. Mephala operates through layers of deception. She does not command armies or demand worship — she whispers, suggests, and watches as mortals destroy each other while believing it was their own idea. The Dark Brotherhood's origins trace to her worship, though the organization has since drifted toward the Night Mother and Sithis. In Skyrim, Mephala's quest involves the Ebony Blade, hidden in Dragonsreach. This katana-like weapon grows more powerful each time it is used to kill someone who trusts the wielder — a perfectly Mephala artifact that weaponizes betrayal itself. She speaks through the blade's whispering enchantment, encouraging the wielder to murder friends and allies for power. Mephala's influence is subtle but pervasive, and many scholars believe her webs of manipulation have shaped more of Tamriel's history than any other Prince.
A shadowy feminine figure with multiple arms like a spider, draped in webs of dark silk that shift and whisper. Her face is veiled, revealing only gleaming eyes that see every hidden connection and secret shame. Thin threads extend from her fingertips into the darkness, each one connected to a mortal whose life she manipulates. Her voice is a whisper that seems to come from everywhere and nowhere.
