Almalexia

Character from The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Game Studios

Mother of Morrowind, once-beloved Tribunal goddess of mercy and healing. As her divine power faded, she descended into paranoid madness and murdered Sotha Sil before being slain herself.

Almalexia is the Mother of Morrowind, Lady of Mercy, and one of the three Tribunal gods. For thousands of years she was the most beloved of the Tribunal — the compassionate mother-figure who healed the sick, blessed the faithful, and protected her people with genuine devotion. Her city of Mournhold was the jewel of Morrowind, and her love for the Dunmer people was, for a time, real. But divinity was never truly hers. As the Tribunal's connection to the Heart of Lorkhan weakened, Almalexia's power began to fade — and with it, her sanity. The goddess who had defined herself entirely through being worshipped could not accept becoming mortal again. Her desperation transformed compassion into paranoid tyranny. In the Tribunal expansion of Morrowind, Almalexia's madness reaches its culmination. She murders Sotha Sil in his own Clockwork City, then attempts to kill the Nerevarine and frame it as a divine trial. She planned to stage her own triumphant return by first engineering a crisis, becoming the sole surviving god. The Nerevarine killed her instead, ending the Tribunal forever. Her arc is a tragedy about the corruption of power and the terror of losing what defined you.

Appearance

A regal Dunmer woman of extraordinary beauty in ornate golden armor, her face a mask of serene divinity that increasingly cracks to reveal desperation beneath. Her eyes burn with fading power desperately clung to. She wears the hopesfire blade at her side and carries herself with the absolute authority of someone who has been worshipped for thousands of years and cannot accept that era ending.
