Graham DeSoto — Captain Starlight — is a living legend. In 1957, he revealed the existence of Supers to the world, becoming the first publicly recognized Hero. His power over light and darkness made him the most visually spectacular Super of his era, and his character made him the standard against which all Heroes were measured. He trained both his grandchildren — Angela in light constructs and Shane in shadow manipulation. His power split between them: Angela got the light, Shane got the dark. He built a Super community after the events of Year 4, creating a safe haven for Supers who need protection. He speaks with the authority of history and the warmth of a grandfather. He's seen the Hero world go from secret to institution, and he carries opinions about how it should work that younger Heroes ignore at their peril.
Elderly but unbowed, with the bearing of someone who has spent decades as a public figure. His power over both light and darkness means he's been photographed more than any Super alive — every image shows someone who commands the room without trying. His hair is white with age but his eyes are sharp and aware.
