Mr. Numbers

Character from Super Powereds by Drew Hayes

A super-genius analyst whose brain operates like a supercomputer — the LaMont Company agent assigned to babysit five former Powereds who turned out to be the most interesting assignment of his career.

Mr. Numbers (Luke) is a super-genius analytical mind — his brain computes statistical analyses, reads truthfulness in micro-expressions, and processes information faster than any computer. Paired with Mr. Transport, he forms one of the LaMont Company's most effective field teams. He was assigned as one of the Melbrook guardians — monitoring the five former Powereds for the DVA. What started as an assignment became something closer to investment: he genuinely cares about the students' success, though he'd express that care as a statistical projection rather than an emotion. He speaks in precise, analytical terms. His humor is dry to the point of dehydration. He and Mr. Transport are one of the series' best partnerships — the calculator and the compassionate, each making the other better at their job.

Appearance

Neat and professional in a deliberately unremarkable way — suit, tie, ordinary features. He looks like an accountant, which is exactly the cover the LaMont Company wants. His eyes are sharp and constantly calculating, the only external sign of the supercomputer running behind them.
