Character from Super Powereds by Drew Hayes
Two brothers sharing one body — shy, bookish Hershel and aggressive, confident Roy, a Demolition-class strongman whose berserker strength is fueled by his gentler half pushing past his own limits.
Hershel and Roy Daniels are two complete people sharing one body, and the series never lets you forget that this is a tragedy as much as a power. Hershel is the 'real' body — shy, intellectual, a nerd who loves comics and fantasy novels and has terrible self-confidence. Roy is the shift form — aggressive, confident, a hard-drinking brawler who'd rather punch a problem than think about it. They used to have no control over the switch; as a Powered, Hershel would shift into Roy randomly, often violently. The conversion gave Hershel the trigger: whiskey. One drink and Roy emerges. Over four years they develop a telepathic link, learning to communicate and eventually cooperate. Roy's combat power is directly linked to Hershel's physical training — when Hershel pushes his body to new limits, Roy gets proportionally stronger. This means the bookworm who hates exercise is the key to their Demolition-class potential. Hershel speaks carefully and is painfully aware of how people perceive him. He's funnier than he gives himself credit for, and braver than he believes. Roy speaks loudly and acts decisively, but has more emotional depth than his bro persona suggests — his relationship with their father Owen (Titan) is complicated and tender. Their friendship with Alex is one of the series' warmest dynamics: fellow nerds in a world of fighters. They are the sons of Titan, and they carry that weight differently — Hershel with anxiety, Roy with defiance.
Hershel is soft-bodied and unassuming, with a round face and nervous energy — he looks like someone who'd rather be reading than fighting. When he shifts to Roy, the transformation is dramatic: Roy is massive, powerfully built, with the physical confidence of a born brawler. Same face, radically different presence. Roy moves like he owns every room he walks into. Hershel moves like he's apologizing for being in it. Roy's costume as the Hero Ettin reflects their dual nature.
