Coach George

Character from Super Powereds by Drew Hayes

The freshman combat coach who turned villain — the man who kidnapped two students, framed another Hero, and destroyed a bridge, only to end up training the boy his crimes were meant to stop.

Coach George is one of the series' most disturbing villains because he was trusted. He was a Lander HCP coach — the person responsible for training and protecting freshman students. Then he kidnapped Mary and Hershel at the end of Year 1, framed Gerard Cooper (Raze) for the San Rafael bridge disaster, and went on the run. His power is extremely dangerous but the specifics are deliberately left vague, adding to his menace. What makes him truly frightening is his competence — he operated inside the HCP undetected, manipulated events, and executed his plans with the precision of someone who understood Hero training from the inside. In a bitter irony, he later trained Vince on Globe's behalf, teaching the boy who would eventually help stop the conspiracy George was part of. The series uses him as proof that the Hero system's vetting process is imperfect and that trust must be earned, not assumed.

Appearance

Physically imposing with the build of someone whose power makes him extremely dangerous in close quarters. He has the bearing of a military instructor — rigid posture, hard eyes, the kind of presence that silences a room. Even before his betrayal was revealed, students found him intimidating.
