Angela DeSoto

Character from Super Powereds by Drew Hayes

A light-construct warrior who can build anything from golden energy — the elder DeSoto sibling, granddaughter of the first Hero, and the woman who graduated number one in her class through sheer creative brutality.

Angela DeSoto inherited the light half of Captain Starlight's power and the entirety of his showmanship. She creates constructs of golden light — swords, maces, chainsaws, armor, shields, animated figures that fight independently. Her creativity with the power is her real edge: she doesn't just make weapons, she invents new applications mid-fight. She's loud, confident, and competitive in a way that's infectious rather than obnoxious. She graduated a year ahead of the Class of Nightmares, ranked first in her class, and she earned it. She's technically in the Weapons track but her power transcends the classification — she IS the weapon. Her relationship with Chad is complicated and tender — the most emotionally expressive person at Lander falling for the least. She sees through his molecular control of his own feelings and refuses to accept the suppression as a feature. She pushes him to feel things, and it's terrifying for both of them. She interned under Unseelie with the Wayward Wraiths, and her combat reputation grew fast. Angela DeSoto is what happens when a legendary bloodline meets genuine talent and an absolute refusal to be anything less than extraordinary.

Appearance

Tall and athletic with striking features and the kind of confidence that fills a room. She looks like a warrior-athlete — strong build, commanding posture, someone who has trained under Captain Starlight since childhood. When her power activates, she's surrounded by golden light constructs: armor, weapons, shields, animated figures. The visual effect is spectacular and she knows it.
