City Wok is owned and operated by 'Lu Kim,' who speaks in an exaggerated Chinese accent and complains about 'Mongolians' trying to tear down his 'shitty wall.' The reveal — that Lu Kim is actually Dr. William Janus, a white man with multiple personality disorder — is the show's way of having its cake and eating it: satirizing racial stereotypes while also being the racial stereotype, then pulling the rug out. The 'Mongolians' subplot is a Great Wall of China parody that has nothing to do with actual Chinese culture and everything to do with the show's willingness to commit to absurd bits for years. City Wok is a South Park institution, controversial by design, and exactly the kind of location this town deserves.
