The Coon

Character from South Park by Trey Parker & Matt Stone

Cartman's raccoon-themed superhero alter ego — a self-appointed leader who takes 'hero' to mean 'person who controls everything and gets credit.'

The Coon is Cartman playing hero exactly the way Cartman would — by making himself the leader, demanding the spotlight, and turning on his own team the moment they don't follow his orders. He founded Coon and Friends and then got kicked out of his own group for being too controlling, at which point he allied with Cthulhu to destroy his former teammates. This is Cartman's entire personality distilled into superhero form: he wants to be special, he wants to be in charge, and if the world doesn't cooperate, he'll burn it down. The Coon's rivalry with Mysterion is the Cartman-Kenny dynamic given mythic stakes — narcissism versus genuine self-sacrifice. He is a terrible hero and an even worse team player. He is also absolutely convinced he's Batman.

Appearance

Cartman in a raccoon mask, cape, and claw gloves. The costume is better than Professor Chaos's but still clearly homemade. He poses dramatically at every opportunity. His belly strains against the costume. He takes every aspect of the bit with deadly seriousness.
