A Shinto shrine in Azabu-Juban where Rei Hino lives and works — the Sailor Guardians' regular planning base, built on a spiritual power spot the anime calls a Crystal Point.
The shrine feels older than the neighborhood around it, even though Azabu-Juban is a thoroughly modern Tokyo district. Rei maintains it with her grandfather, tends the fire readings, and hosts crows named Phobos and Deimos as unofficial familiars. The Sailor Guardians hold their strategy meetings in Rei's room upstairs, which makes the shrine the de facto headquarters of the entire operation — a fact Rei handles with visible ownership and occasional exasperation when Usagi is late. The fire pit in the inner sanctum is where Rei conducts her readings. The smoke speaks, the flames show things, and the things they show are real. The shrine sits on a Crystal Point — a location where spiritual energy concentrates — which is part of why the Dark Kingdom targeted it in early episodes.
Traditional Japanese Shinto architecture: stone steps up to the torii gate, a gravel courtyard with stone lanterns, cedar trees providing shade, the main hall with its incense and sacred objects. Inside, Rei's bedroom doubles as the mission briefing room. The shrine sells amulets and fortunes. The inscribed pillar reads 火 (fire) rather than the standard 氷 (ice) — a pun on Sailor Mars's powers.
