Sailor Moon
by Naoko Takeuchi / Toei Animation
Sailor Moon is the 1992 anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's manga, following Usagi Tsukino — a clumsy, food-loving fourteen-year-old who discovers she is Sailor Moon, guardian of love and justice. With her four closest friends transformed into Sailor Guardians and a talking black cat as her adviser, she fights monsters born from human despair while navigating school, romance, and a past life she can only half-remember. The romance between Usagi and Mamoru — two people who keep finding each other across lifetimes without knowing why — is the emotional spine of the entire series.
