The guardian of the Door of Space and Time, who has stood at her post alone for centuries and is allowed to leave it exactly once — she knows more about what's coming than she will say.
Setsuna has guarded the Time Door alone since before any of the others were born, forbidden from leaving her post, forbidden from stopping time, forbidden from traveling into the past she is protecting. She has had centuries to think about how the story goes and she knows parts of it she hasn't shared. When she finally enters the main story, she's both more and less formidable than expected — more, because she is calm under pressure in the way that only someone who has had centuries to make peace with bad outcomes can be. Less, because she is also deeply fond of Chibiusa, dreams of being a designer, and is apparently capable of something resembling whimsy when the situation allows. She becomes part of the chosen family with Haruka, Michiru, and Hotaru. She chooses this. After all that time at the Time Door alone, she chooses the family.
Very long dark green hair pulled partly up, dark red eyes, and an otherworldly composure that reads as ancient even in casual clothes. She is the oldest of the Sailor Guardians and carries that in how she moves. As Sailor Pluto she wears black with a dark maroon collar and skirt, and wields the Garnet Rod — a tall staff topped with the Garnet Orb, which glows red. Her boots and her tiara gem are also garnet.
