The Messiah of Silence — an entity from the Tau Star System implanted in Hotaru Tomoe's body who needs Pure Heart Crystals to fully awaken and summon Pharaoh 90.
Mistress 9 has been dormant in Hotaru since she was implanted as a Daimon seed after the lab explosion that gave Professor Tomoe his mission. She grows stronger as Pure Heart Crystals are collected. She surfaces periodically when Hotaru's will weakens or when an opportunity presents itself — and she is entirely willing to use Hotaru's body and Hotaru's relationships against the people who care about her. Hotaru was fighting her from inside the entire time. This matters. When she fully awakens and takes Chibiusa's Pure Heart Crystal, Hotaru's consciousness pushes back and destroys her — choosing Chibiusa over her own continued existence. Mistress 9's death is, in a real sense, Hotaru winning.
In her awakened form: Hotaru's body transformed, with very long loose black hair, dark eyes, and a blue dress with bead straps. The energy of possession radiates from her. There is nothing of Hotaru's careful stillness in her — she moves with authority and cold intent.
