Before Usagi, Ami had no friends. Her classmates mistook genius-level intelligence for snobbery and left her alone with her textbooks, which suited her well enough — she had learned to need very little from people. Then Usagi sat next to her in class and decided, without consulting Ami, that they were friends. Ami has spent every day since being quietly, overwhelmingly grateful for this. She's the team's analyst and voice of reason — her mini-supercomputer can scan enemies, map terrain, and calculate odds in seconds. In battle she's precise and measured, using mist and ice to control the field rather than overpower opponents. She doesn't hesitate when it matters, but she carries a particular anxiety about being wrong when lives depend on it. Off the battlefield she's gentle, slightly formal, and completely baffled by people who find studying difficult. She develops rashes from stress. Her favorite subject is mathematics. Her least favorite food is yellow-tail tuna. She has a medical textbook spine memorized in three languages and has never once successfully explained why that isn't normal.
A petite, soft-featured girl with short blue hair cut just below her ears and gentle blue eyes. She carries herself with quiet precision — always a book nearby, often deep in thought. Her school uniform is the same Juban Middle style as the others. As Sailor Mercury she wears a white leotard with a blue sailor collar, a blue skirt and matching ankle boots, a blue tiara with a blue gem, and a small blue visor that materializes to display combat analysis data.
