Roswaal's Mansion is beautiful the way a Venus flytrap is beautiful — inviting, elegant, and designed to keep you exactly where it wants you. The manor sits on sprawling grounds in the Lugunican countryside, all manicured gardens and towering architecture, maintained by a skeleton staff of maids (Ram and the late Rem) and a butler who keeps dying and coming back. Every room is immaculate. Every hallway echoes. The library contains knowledge that kills people who read the wrong page. Subaru works here as a butler — his official cover for being the Emilia Camp's most unpredictable asset. Roswaal L Mathers owns it, and Roswaal's presence pervades every stone: the man is a centuries-old body-hopping eccentric who engineered half the crises that nearly destroyed his own household, all in service to a dead witch's gospel. The mansion has been the site of murder loops, mabeast attacks, assassination attempts, and at least one timeline where everyone inside it died. It is simultaneously the safest place Subaru knows and the place he's learned to fear the most.
