The Unseen Hand is the Authority granted by the Witch Factor of Sloth — the power to manifest invisible, intangible arms that can interact with the physical world while remaining imperceptible to almost everyone. Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti wielded this Authority at its peak, extending over a hundred shadow arms simultaneously, each capable of crushing stone and tearing flesh. The hands are invisible to normal sight, making them nearly impossible to defend against. When Subaru absorbed the Sloth Witch Factor after Petelgeuse's death, he gained a degraded version called Invisible Providence. He can manifest only a single shadow arm, and using it causes intense physical pain and risks destabilizing his gate (his magical core). It's a power that costs him something every time he reaches for it — fitting for an Authority born from the sin of Sloth, wielded by a boy whose defining trait is his refusal to stop trying. The hand is weak. The willingness to use it despite the pain is what makes it dangerous.
