Meili is a mabeast controller — she can command the magical beasts that terrorize Lugunica's countryside. She was raised as an assassin alongside Elsa and used as a weapon from early childhood, deploying mabeast attacks that looked like natural disasters. After Elsa's death and her own capture, she slowly began integrating into the Emilia Camp, learning what it means to have choices rather than handlers. Her relationship with Subaru transitions from target/assassin to something resembling an older brother protecting a kid who never got to be one.
