A one-armed, helmeted knight from Japan — Subaru isn't the only isekai'd person here, and Al's been keeping secrets about his connection to Satella for a very long time.

Al is Priscilla's knight and the series' most persistent mystery. He's from Japan, summoned to this world long before Subaru, and knows far more than he reveals. He lost his arm under unknown circumstances, wears a helmet to hide his face, and possesses an Authority-like ability that involves looping through death in a localized area — similar to but distinct from Return by Death. His connection to Satella, his knowledge of the Witch Cult, and his true identity remain some of the series' biggest unanswered questions. He speaks with Subaru like a senpai talking to a kouhai, familiar and slightly pitying.

Appearance

Wears a distinctive full-face helmet at all times, medium build, one arm missing. Dresses in gladiator-like armor. His face is almost never shown. Speaks casually, at odds with his mysterious appearance.
