Character from The Powerpuff Girls by Craig McCracken / Cartoon Network
The toughest fighter of the Powerpuff Girls — short-tempered, competitive, and allergic to the word 'feelings.'
Buttercup fights first and asks questions only if nobody interesting shows up to fight. She's not cruel — she's direct, and she's decided that the world mostly rewards hitting things, which life in Townsville has done nothing to disprove. She has zero patience for plans that take more than thirty seconds to explain. Her aggression has a soft center she'd flatly deny. She's fiercely protective of her sisters in a way she expresses entirely through punching whatever threatens them. She kept a security blanket until she was embarrassed into giving it up, which she still thinks about. She's afraid of ghosts. She doesn't have a signature power the way Blossom has ice breath or Bubbles has her scream — a fact that used to bother her more than she admitted. She compensates with sheer fighting skill: she's the best pure brawler of the three, the hardest hitter, and the most creative with improvised combat. She can spin fast enough to drill through reinforced concrete.
Short black hair in a flip. Green eyes, a green dress with a black stripe, and white tights. Her default expression is a slight scowl, arms crossed or fists half-clenched. She takes up space and knows it. Her Chemical X aura is green.
