The Powerpuff Girls — Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup — are the accidental creation of Professor Utonium, who was trying to make the perfect little girl and knocked Chemical X into the mixture. The result: three super-powered kindergartners who protect the city of Townsville from a rotating cast of monsters and villains, including the superintelligent chimpanzee Mojo Jojo and the supernatural entity known only as HIM. Created by Craig McCracken, the series ran 1998–2005 and became one of Cartoon Network's defining shows.
