Location from Poppy Playtime by MOB Games
The abandoned toy manufacturing complex that serves as the entire game's setting — massive, labyrinthine, and alive in all the wrong ways.
Playtime Co. was once a real company with real workers and a genuine consumer product — toys. It was also a research institution conducting experiments that no ethics board ever saw. Both of these things occupied the same building for over a decade, and the architecture holds both realities simultaneously: assembly lines next to operating theaters, children's play areas next to specimen storage. The factory has been running itself since the Hour of Joy. Systems that should have died years ago still operate. The lights come on. The ventilation moves. The cameras track movement. Something is keeping the building alive because the building is useful to it.
An industrial complex the size of several city blocks, with manufacturing floors, research wings, a children's care facility, and administrative levels. From outside: a grey brutalist building with cheerful Playtime Co. signage that has mostly rusted. From inside: every scale is wrong. Ceilings are too high. Corridors stretch too long. The building feels larger than it should be.
