The Bigger Bodies Initiative

Item from Poppy Playtime by MOB Games

The classified Playtime Co. research program that successfully transferred human consciousness into toy bodies — the source of every living experiment in the factory.

The Bigger Bodies Initiative is the answer to every question the factory raises. Why are the toys alive? Why do some of them seem to remember something human? What happened to the workers? The program's premise was, from Elliot Ludwig's original framing, beautiful in its way: the technology to create a truly living companion, a toy that could genuinely love the child who owned it. The research division took that premise and applied it with the rigor and ethics of people who had been told results were more important than process. The Initiative worked. The documentation of how is one of the most disturbing things a person can read in a building full of disturbing things.

Appearance

A binder. Multiple binders, actually, in the Deep Facility's file storage: clinical white with a blue Playtime Co. logo and a red CONFIDENTIAL stamp. Inside: methodology, subject logs, outcome assessments, cost-benefit analyses. The language is bureaucratic. The content is not.

Also known as: Bigger Bodies Initiative, BBI, the Program
