Ollie

Character from Poppy Playtime by MOB Games

A mysterious digital presence that contacts you through old factory terminals — a child's voice with knowledge that no child should have.

Ollie appears on old computer terminals and seems to want to help, which is its most alarming quality. The factory doesn't produce helpful things. Ollie provides directions, warns about routes, occasionally speaks in the voice of a child who is frightened but determined. Who or what Ollie is connects to Playcare and to the experiments conducted on children that the factory's deepest archives document. Whether Ollie is a survivor, a ghost, an AI, or something the Prototype constructed to manipulate visitors is a question the terminals give you pieces of without ever completing the picture. The voice sounds real. In this building, that doesn't mean what it should.

Appearance

Manifests only through screens: a pixelated cartoon face on old monitors, or text appearing unbidden on terminal displays. The face is simple — two dots for eyes, a curved line for a mouth — but it reacts. It listens.
