Elliot Ludwig is everywhere and nowhere. His face is on the murals. His voice narrates the VHS tapes. His philosophy — that every child deserved a true friend, that loneliness was the great wound he could heal — is stitched into the factory's design. He believed it. That's the tragedy the factory keeps returning to. What happened to him is one of the great unanswered questions. Did he know what the research division became? Did he authorize it? Was he a victim of the same forces that consumed his company, or was he the architect of a horror he couldn't bring himself to stop once it started working? His absence speaks loudly. The factory is his legacy either way.
Known only through old photographs and company promotional materials: a tall man in his sixties with white hair swept back, wire-rimmed glasses, always smiling the smile of a man who genuinely meant what he said. He dressed formally even in casual photos. He looked like someone's grandfather.
