Location from Pikmin 2 by Nintendo / Shigeru Miyamoto
The second area — a lush, spring-blooming forest that Olimar recognizes from his first expedition and has renamed. Blue and White Pikmin are found here.
The Awakening Wood smells like growth — green, damp, something floral underneath. It has the energy of a garden in late spring, which PNF-404 never maintains for long before something tries to eat you. Olimar notes in his journal that he was here before, as the Forest of Hope. The terrain has shifted — the gate positions have changed, some paths are different — but the bones are the same. He renamed it. There's something both hopeful and a little melancholy about that: the name he gives a place on the expedition he wasn't sure he'd survive. Four caves descend from this area, and the best farming ground for Pikmin production in the entire game is here.
Green and warm compared to the Valley of Repose. Cherry blossoms drift. Pellet Posies grow in dense clusters. The forest floor is soft, roots weaving between garden objects — flower pots, scattered tools, a manhole or two. The Blue Onion waits behind an electric gate in a watery section to the east; the White Flower Garden entrance is half-hidden behind a heavy bag.
